DAYTON–The FFA South Sub Districts took place on March 8, Sources of Strength Training on Tuesday, March 7 and Spring Spirit and Prom planning are in the works.

The FFA South Sub-District Speaking Events were held in Pomeroy with six other team from around the region. A Dayton FFA team member, Wyntr McCauley, won second place in Extemporaneous Speaking and will advance to Districts in Asotin on March 23. Extemporaneous Speaking is a speech based on a topic randomly picked and spoke on unrehearsed.

The Sources of Strength Training was held in the Media Center of the High School (DHS) for the "Peer Leaders" chosen by Kristie Korslund to participate in the training. Both Middle and High school students participated in workshops, games, icebreakers, and strengths. The activities allowed these leaders of the Dayton School District to dig deeper into what the Sources of Strength are really about and how to portray this program to the students of our school.

The ASB is actively working on Spring Spirit and Prom week on April 24-29. Spirit Week will include dress-up days and activities for the DHS students to participate in and get excited about Prom on April 29. The Waitsburg High School (WHS) Junior Class and the DHS Junior Class are actively coordinating the Prom event for this year. WHS students are taking the lead.
