Lady Wolfpack pitcher Kameryn Tupling gives this pitch her all in play against Colton this week.

DAYTON–The Warden Cougars overpowered Dayton-Waitsburg's Lady Wolfpack Fastpitch team here last weekend, winning 25-10 and 21-2. The season record is 4-5 overall, 0-2 in league.

DW played Colton last Tuesday at home, and next faces River View for an April 28 double header.

Warden piled on 11 first-inning runs to set the tone for the first game then coasted to the win. DW's offense was productive for just a few runs in each inning, not enough to overcome the first-inning blast.

Hendrix Groom nailed a triple, Marissa Tupling and Alyssa Segraves both hit doubles, with Peyton Struckmeier getting three hits Lila Hutchens getting two hits.

In the second game, Warden didn't rack up the runs until the top of the fifth when they broke the 10-2 game open for a 21-2 win.

Hitting for DW were Teagan Culley, Hutchens, Segraves and Groom.

The Lady Wolfpack gave the Lady Irish a game on April 11, going extra innings before faltering in the bottom of the ninth, 23-19.

DeSales held a 5-1 lead after the second inning, then the Wolfpack bats got going and started nibbling away at the Lady Irish lead. By the sixth, DW rallied with four runs in the bottom of the frame for an 11-11 tie.

Both teams scored four runs in the seventh, then three runs apiece in the eighth, when DeSales tacked on five runs to DW's one run in the ninth.

The Irish hammered 18 hits to DW's 17, with home runs by Kate Dunham and Abi Guest. Marissa Tupling had four hits, including a triple and a double, and three RBIs. Segraves had a double and two RBIs.
