July 24, 1980–April 30, 2023

Clinton James Atteberry, Dayton resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Dayton General Hospital. He was 42.

Clint was born July 24, 1980 in Pasco, Wash. His early years of learning were in Walla Walla before moving to Dayton in 1993. Clint graduated from Dayton High School in 1998 and then attended Walla Walla Community College where he earned a degree in Agricultural Science-Animal Science. He then went on to be a journeyman electrician and became a master electrician. For a short time, he owned and operated Rimrock Electric.

Clint became reacquainted with a friend from his teenage years, Christina Carter, and the couple have been together for the last 11 years. They making their home along Wolf Fork in Dayton where they have raised many animals together. Clint loved animals of all kinds. Chris and Clint were married on August 8, 2020 in Dayton.

Clint worked for the City of Dayton as the code enforcement officer and later as the building official and fire marshal for Columbia County. At the time of his death; he was just beginning as the facilities manager for the county.

Clint loved fishing; especially for bass above the Little Goose Dam. He liked riding snowmobiles. He also was an avid golfer and had served as President of the golf board. He was a good mechanic and liked building hot rods with his daughter and father-in-law. He could repair nearly anything.

When he was a teenager, he liked to rodeo and was a good team roper. For several years, he helped raise steers with his daughter Jessie, as her 4-H project.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Doug Farley and his grandpa and grandma Atteberry.

Clint will be missed by many in the community, but especially by his wife; Chris at their home; daughter Jessie Atteberry, in Spokane; he was like a son to his father-in-law, Bill Carter of Dayton; brother-in-law, Mike Carter of Kooskia, Idaho; by his uncle Gordon Farley of Dayton, aunt Judy Sherman of LaGrande, Ore., and other extended family.

A Celebration of Life for Clint is planned at the Touchet Valley Golf Course on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 12 p.m. Corbeill Funeral Home of Dayton is caring for the family. On-line guest book is at http://www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
