What's New at School?

Upcoming Senior Class of 2024 at DHS

June 8, 2023

DAYTON–Graduating the Class of 2023 has signaled the close of their reign as seniors and the end of high school for them, as they move on to new endeavors. Now, it is traditional for the junior class to take their place as the new seniors, and be dubbed the Senior Class of 2024.

For many students, making this transition sparks excitement, fear, changing emotions, yet all are ready to graduate. Some things these new seniors are looking forward to is the new sports program, working, building memories, and, of course, graduating.

These things are the cornerstone for incredible goals as a group as well as individually. As we move through the next year, we will continue to learn, grow, experience, and leave a legacy unsurpassed for those following in our footsteps. It will be a year to finish one chapter, while planning and preparing for what is to come: our futures.

The new Seniors have a view of their final year of high school in different ways. Some are emotional, while others believe it will be an ordinary school year. Then there are those who are ready to take on the world, to look past the small town of Dayton with big ideas, big goals, and ambitions toward college and careers.

Those who have taken on leadership roles throughout Dayton High School (DHS) have made plans and goals for things like bonding, fun, opportunities, community, and fundraising.

As one of the new seniors and member of the Class of 2024, I am able to see the coming transformation from the inside, which makes me catch my breath in anticipation of the incredible things to come over the next year and beyond.

Congratulations to the graduated Class of 2023. Welcome new seniors Class of 2024. Let’s make it the best ever!
