Frances Nellie Randolph

Frances Nellie Randolph, lifetime Dayton resident, passed away on September 19, 2023 in Dayton. She was 104.

Frances was one of five children born to Robert and Nellie (McCall) Pugh on August 9, 1919 in Dayton. She attended grade school on Eckler Mountain and finished up her education at Dayton High School. She married Gerald Randolph on August 9, 1937 in Dayton. She worked various jobs throughout her life, ultimately retiring in 1975. She had a love for the mountains; cutting wood, mushroom hunting, and huckleberry picking. She made the best huckleberry cobbler!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald who passed away in 2009; her parents and her siblings, Robert "Bud" Pugh, Al Pugh, Thelma Huff, and Laura Startin; as well as her nieces, Evelyn Randolph and Marg Brown.

She is survived by her three nieces Loralee Callaway, Irene Gagnon, Donna Surry and Darlene Mings; as well as many great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Frances will be held at the United Brethren Church in Dayton on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at the Dayton cemetery next to her husband. Corbeill Funeral Homes of Dayton is caring for the family.
