Homecoming Week at Dayton High

DAYTON–Homecoming spirit week began on October 30 and will continue through November 4, with many activities happening each day and a dance to wrap things up.

High School Football season is coming to an end shortly, and the Associated Student Body (ASB) has been planning the final touches for Homecoming Week. ASB President Wyntr McCauley will sell Homecoming tickets before and after school throughout Homecoming week. Prices of the tickets at the dance door will go up but are available to those who were unable to make it to pre-sale.

Each day, throughout Homecoming week, will have a themed dress-up day beginning with Monday, October 30 which is "Soccer Mom VS BBQ Dad." A class meeting is scheduled at first period, where students will plan things for the week within their classes. For Lunch, The Mi Pueblito Taco Truck will be available for high school students and staff only. After school, students will be allowed to work on pole painting with an adult supervisor, until Thursday afternoon.

The themed dress-up day on Tuesday, October 31, is "Halloween." ASB will serve sugar cookies provided by the Middle School ASB in the commons before school. Class meetings are planned during fifth period.

The next day, Wednesday, November 1, the dress-up day is "Whiteout." All high school students will be released at 1:30 p.m. to participate in the "Color Run" coordinated by the Dayton Boosters. Later that evening, there will be the "Barbie" themed Stud Volleyball game at 7:30 p.m. in the gym; tickets are by donation.

Thursday's, dress-up day is "Greek Gods and Goddesses." Each class will have an assigned period to practice for the Lip-sync, which will take place during seventh period. The evening activity for November 2, is the "Fraternity" themed Powder Puff Football game at the football field at 7:30 p.m.

"Bulldog Pride" is the dress-up theme on Friday, November 3. During sixth period, there are class meetings, followed by a Pep Assembly during seventh period. Later that evening, the "Flannel" themed Homecoming Football Game and Senior Night will be held at 7 p.m. Senior Recognition is scheduled before the game (between 6:30-6:55 p.m.), and the Homecoming Court will be announced during halftime.

The "Mt. Olympus" themed Homecoming dance will be held at The Club on Saturday, November 4 at 8-11 p.m., to wrap up this exciting week.
