Mass Band and Choir Concert delights

The High School Mass Band and Choir Festival performed in Dayton last Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the High School Gym. The event, presented by the Southeastern Washington Music Educators Association, included music programs from high schools in Dayton, Waitsburg, Clarkston, Colfax, Asotin, Washtucna, Kahlotus, St. John-Endicott and Garfield-Palouse. The Mass Band, under the direction of WSU professor Dr. Danh Pham, performed The Avengers, Transmutation, by Joe Covill (who was in the audience), and Duke Ellington in Concert. The Mass Choir, directed by WSU's Dr. Matthew Myers, accompanied by Cameron Layes, performed "Just Believe," by Pinkzebra, "Bring Me Little Water Sylvie" by R. Jones, and "Happiness" by Emerson.
