Pacific Power's Terry Wanous was on the job, stringing lights on Dayton's Community Christmas Tree, at the corner of First and Main next to Elk Drug, and he also took a turn as Chronicle photographer, snapping a different view of this annual pilgrimage by Dayton Elementary's students. Third Grade Teacher Paul Bryan and his exuberant charges were in the process of having Wanous place their hand-made Christmas ornaments around the tree Tuesday afternoon. DAYTON–Now that the turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie has settled, wrap up warm and head to downtown Dayton for the annual Christmas celebration put on by the Dayton Chamber of Commerce here in "The Town That Still Believes." Christmas Kickoff 2023 gets under way Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25.
The weather should cooperate, according to the National Weather Service, with some freezing fog...
