DAYTON-Students returned from Thanksgiving break and Christmas Kick-off last week but many still look forward to Christmas break in three weeks, starting December 19 and ending January 3. Students enjoy activities throughout the last few weeks of school before being released for the long Christmas break.
The Senior Class will sell the World’s Finest Chocolate candy bars and cartons on November 28 while supplies last. These funds will go towards their Senior Trip taking place on June 4. The Senior Class hopes to raise enough funds to afford a day trip on a cruise. To purchase, be sure to contact the class advisor Kristie Korslund or a student of the Senior Class. The deadline for the seniors to order their caps and gowns was Monday, December 1.
On Saturday, December 11, the Dayton FFA Chapter Trapshooting team will be competing in Spangle. Dayton FFA is also wrapping up its Wreath Fundraiser next week, Monday, December 6. To order your wreath, get ahold of FFA Advisor Miss Morgan or any students who participate as Dayton FFA Chapter members.
The Dayton High School (DHS) Associated Student Body (ASB) is actively working on planning the Christmas Send-off week and Winter Sports activities, such as themed games and locker decorations for athletes participating. The girls’ varsity and boys’ junior varsity (JV) and varsity all participated in the basketball jamboree in McLoughlin on Wednesday, November 29. The DHS girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will head to Granger for their first game. Boys JV is at 4 p.m., Girls Varsity at 6:30 p.m., and Boys Varsity at 7:30 p.m. The first “Bulldog Pride” themed home game for the DHS Girls and Boys Basketball teams will be on Tuesday, December 5, against Highland. The boys’ JV plays at 4:30 p.m., the girls’ varsity at 6 p.m., and the boys’ varsity at 7:30 p.m.
