Christmas Kick Off is a hit

Some of Santa's reindeer were in Dayton last week for the Chamber of Commerce's Christmas Kick Off celebration, and they undoubtedly brought joy to this young lady who got the opportunity to meet this magical creature up close and personal. "It makes me so emotional to see all the kids and their faces that just light up from seeing Santa or reindeer, the parade or on the hayride," commented Belinda Larson, Chamber Executive Director. Larson applauded turnout for the 5K Ugly Sweater Dash, noted that there were 26 parade entries and that the crowd seemed to be bigger this year. At left, the Candy Canes, a local quintet led by Charlotte Baker of Clef Hangers Music Studio, led the assembled throng in a few Christmas carols prior to the ceremonial lighting of the Community Christmas Tree.
