DAYTON–For the forty-fifth year, the Dayton Chronicle has promoted local shopping during the Christmas holidays with its Christmas Shopping Spree promotion, which started in late November and wrapped up just before Christmas. Last week, the Chronicle held the drawing for winners of shopping scrip in the amounts of $300 for first price, $150 for second prize and $75 for third prize.
Colleen Taylor was the Grand Prize Winner, taking home $300 in Shopping Spree Scrip, coupons in $10 denominations which may be redeemed for goods or services at eighteen local business establishments.
"Woohoo!" exclaimed Taylor when contacted. "I can't believe I got the big one! You've made my day!"
Diane Gilmore of Dayton was the happy winner of second price and $150 in Shopping Spree Scrip. "Wow!" Gilmore said. "That's wonderful."
Rhonda Peterson of Dayton, won third prize and $75 in scrip. "No way!" she exclaimed. "That's cool!"
Businesses which participated in 2023 included Dayton Eagles Aerie No. 2618, My Dad's Place, Dayton Mercantile, V A Tires, Dingle's of Dayton, Gravis Law, Dayton Auto Repair, Vikki's Sweet Shoppe, Fiesta En Jalisco, Elk Drug, City Lumber, All Saints Thrift Store, PDQ Food Mart, Clef Hangers Music Studio-Charlotte Baker, Dayton Truck Stop, Circle K, Table Rock Meat Company and the Dayton Chronicle.
