Additional snow fall and chillier conditions brought the skiers and snow board riders back to Bluewood.

DAYTON–After a short-lived shutdown, Ski Bluewood opened the day after Christmas to skiers and snowboard riders, operating on limited terrain and runs.

The area had opened December 14 under limited, early season operating conditions then ceased operations on December 20 when a warming trend in the weather depleted snow depths at the base.

As of early this week, Bluewood is reporting 25 inches at the summit, 11 inches at the base and has received five inches within the past 48 hours (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), and it was lightly snowing.

The area will be open daily this week through January 1, 2024. In January, regular open days will be Thursday through Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
