Happy New Year!

For some maybe. For others it is just another day. Another day of wondering how they are going to get what they need.

I don’t mean food, shelter or clothing. I mean alcohol and/or other drugs.

There is a lot of misinformation in the area of drug and alcohol dependence. One such myth is that people do drugs to get high. Although this is true in the beginning for some, after a certain amount of time, alcohol and drug use become a need and not a want.

A need in the respect that alcoholics and drug users don’t always use to “get high.” They use to get “well.”

Imagine waking up in the morning and shaking, feeling nauseated, etc. You know that all you have to do to feel normal is to have drinks of alcohol.

Would you?

Imagine waking up in the morning and feeling like you have the worst case of the flu you have ever suffered. You know all you must do is to use your drug of choice, whatever that may be to feel normal again.

Would you?

Do you feel sluggish in the morning? Do you drink coffee and then feel better? You have just experienced what an alcoholic/drug addict feels daily. Just on a much smaller scale.

What may have been a choice at some time in their lives, is now a choice made by their body and mind.

With all that said, let me introduce myself. My name is Greg Hall. I received a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Liberty University with an emphasis in addiction and recovery. Also, I am certified by the state of Washington as a Substance Use Disorder Professional.

If you find yourself within any of the above scenarios or just have questions, give me a call. I would like to help.

At Blue Mountain Counseling we offer alcohol and drug assessments using the latest assessment instruments. We offer substance use treatment in the forms of outpatient and intensive Outpatient. We also provide ADIS. (Alcohol drug information school) for those who may be mandated by the legal justice system.

If a higher level of care is needed, we can help facilitate the placement. We use a realistic approach to treatment at Blue Mountain Counseling. We understand that in order for treatment to help, there needs to be a partnership of sorts. Therapy providing the road map and the client willing to make the journey. I know you may be scared. I know you may not believe you even need help. if you have ever wondered or someone has mentioned to you, you may have a problem with alcohol and/or other drugs, call us. If you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, call Blue Mountain Counseling and get on the road to recovery.

There is no judgement here. We all recognize we are all flawed individuals. We understand recovery isn’t about stopping drugs or alcohol. It’s about finding serenity for your life. Stopping the cycle of addiction is just one part of that.

I hope in this new year you will make the best decision of your life and seek the recovery you and your family deserve.
