DAYTON–The public is invited to join with "Key Leaders" of Columbia County for a community conversation to "Help Keep Our Kids Safe From Substance Use" here Thursday, February 29, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Liberty Theater. The forum is sponsored by the Coalition for Youth and Families.
The goal of the event is to provide a snapshot of what is currently occurring in the Dayton and Columbia County community regarding drug use, with a youth focus.
Key leaders who will be on the panel discussion include Prosecuting Attorney C. Dale Slack, Columbia County Sheriff Joe Helm, Kim Emery, PA-C, Columbia Family Clinic, and Dayton High School Principal Guin Joyce.
In the panel discussion, the public will hear and learn about current issues around substance misuse and the efforts of the Coalition for Youth and Families to reduce youth substance misuse.
With the public's help, the Coalition will identify ways to build capacity as it formulates plans for the coming year.
A free lunch will be offered.
