DAYTON–The Winter Sports Banquet which took place on Tuesday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. With that behind us, spring sports have officially started
the Dayton High School Softball team played against Yakima Nation in a Double Header on Saturday, March 9, at 11 a.m. That same Saturday, the Dayton High School Track team attended the Walla Walla High School Jamboree in Walla Walla at 11 a.m. Dayton FFA Trap Shoot team will also be headed to Spangle for a Trap Shoot competition on March 9.
The DHS Baseball and Softball Teams will play at White Swan for a Doubleheader on Tuesday, March 12, starting at 1 p.m. On Saturday, March 16, the DHS Baseball and Softball Teams will play in Waitsburg against the Cardinals for a Doubleheader at 11 a.m. The DHS Softball Team also organizes a fundraiser selling a half bushel of oranges and grapefruits. If you are interested, find a DHS Softball athlete to purchase.
The Middle School Associated Student Body (ASB) has been working on leadership projects within their Leadership class. They will hold a Canned Food Drive from February 28 through March 11. The Middle School ASB will collect all donations.
The High School ASB have actively worked on individual leadership projects. As Prom is approaching in April, the ASB will actively work on the events, schedule, and dress-up days for Prom Week.
Yamate students will arrive on April 12 and join us until April 26. They need families to host. Please contact Kristine Warren at the high school if you are interested in hosting.
The Senior Class of 2024 has been actively figuring out what to do for their upcoming Senior Trip in June before graduation. Every Wednesday, they have been holding class meetings during Advisory. They have been discussing other fundraisers to do in the spring, scholarships, financial aid, the Senior Trip, and other factors that play into finishing their high school careers.
