Spring Spirit Week

DAYTON–Spring Break for the School District began April 1. Students will be back to school Monday, April 8. When students return, the Dayton High School (DHS) "Spring Spirit Week" will kick-off April 7-13.

DHS Associated Student Body (ASB) has been actively planning fun activities for week leading up to the Junior Class sponsored Prom. On Monday, April 8, the dress-up day theme is "Hat Day," and there will be locker area decorating for each class that day and class meetings.

"Jersey Day," themed dress up day follows on Tuesday, April 9. There will be locker area decorating that day.

The dress-up day theme for Wednesday, April 10, is "USA." There will be locker area decorating. On Thursday, April 11, the dress-up day is "Students Dress as Teachers," which includes locker area decorating. "Bulldog Spirit" is the dress-up theme for Friday, April 12 with a pep assembly that afternoon.

Yamate will be arriving on April 12. The "Starry Night" Prom held at The Club on Saturday, April 13 is at 9-11 p.m. Prom tickets can be purchased in the High School Commons or at the dance, with the price increasing at the door. The Senior Class will also be having a Bake Sale all week to obtain funds for their senior trip.

There are a few upcoming games/meets for Spring Sports athletes. A DHS Baseball double-header in Gar-Pal will be on April 6 starting at 11 a.m. There will also be a DHS Softball double-header at home against Gar-Pal beginning at 11 a.m.

A DHS home Baseball game against Gar-Pal will be held on April 9 starting at 4 p.m. That same day, DHS Softball will be headed to Gar-Pal, and their game will begin at 4 p.m. DHS Track will also compete at their first league meet in Pomeroy starting at 3:30 p.m.

On April 11, a DHS Baseball game against Mac-Hi in McLoughlin will begin at 4 p.m. DHS Track will compete in Umatilla at the River's Edge meet on April 12, starting at 12 p.m. And on April 13, there will be a DHS Baseball home double-header against Sunnyside Christian.

The ASB Elections are just around the corner! If you want to run for a position, please remember the following dates:

April 8: ASB Officer Declarations are available in the High School Office

April 12: ASB Officer Declarations are due in the High School Office by 3:30 p.m.

April 17: Candidate Workshop with Current ASB Officers in Mrs. Reser's room during 7th period

April 22: Posters & campaign materials may be distributed. May 3: Speeches are due to Mrs. Reser by 3 p.m.

Wednesdays starting May 7 period officer trainings.

May 8: Speech Run Through- 5th period, Speeches 7th period in Auditorium, voting in advisories directly after speeches

May 9: Announcement of 2024-25 ASB Officers.
