HANFORD–Large meets with scores of competitors from 4A schools down to 1B was an experience for the Bulldog Track and Field program here March 30 at the Clay Lewis Invitational.

"Large meets like this can be very intimidating," commented Head Coach Dan Nechocom. "With several big schools in the mix, a person could have their best performance ever and still place in the double-digits. Way down in the double-digits! Many of our athletes not only stepped up and made big PRs, but also watched the top athletes to learn more.

Dayton's men's 4X100 Relay finished 11th with a time of 48.19, just about five seconds slower than Kennewick's winning 42.84 time. And Bulldog Bonnie Anderson tossed the discus 55-0, a personal best, and 40th out of 52.

"We're hoping that, with light training and a lot of maintenance during spring break, some of the beat up legs and tired arms can recover well and be ready for the push through April and qualify for postseason competition," Nechodom said.
