Lady Dawgs sweep Lady Bucs

The Lady Bulldogs finished a three-game sweep of Pomeroy Tuesday at home with a 19-8 win and they sit solidly in second place in SE1B standings. DAYTON–The Lady Bulldogs finished a sweep of the Pomeroy Lady Pirates with a 19-8 win Tuesday, and wins by 26-14 and 30-19 last weekend to reside firmly in second place with a 7-2 league record behind 8-1 Colton as the season winds down.

The Lady Pirates were wobbily in the first inning here Tuesday while the Lady Bullsdogs racked up a bunch of runs then held on against Pirate rallies to win 19-8.

The Bulldogs also had no trouble with Gar-Pal on April 17, shutting them out with a two-hitter, 14-0. A game versus Yakama Tribal Nation was canceled and will not be rescheduled.

"The girls had a great game," commented Head Coach Carly Fabian. "They had high energy and maintained focus, helping secure the win.

"They did a great job finding a way on base," Fabian said, "and with their experience and determination, they pushed runs across."

Lucy Trump took the circle to finish the game beautifully, Fabian said.
