Flicks with 'wild adventure' return to Liberty Theater

March 18, 2021

DAYTON–After a very long year of lockdowns many of you may be ready for a wild adventure. The Liberty Theater brings you Wonder Woman 1984, which takes you back to 1984 and its excesses. Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) maintains a low profile by curating artifacts at the Smithsonian museum. She is lonely and meets a new friend, Dr. Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig). Diana must contend with this work colleague and a businessman, whose desire for extreme wealth sends the world down a path of destruction, after an ancient artifact goes missing. Ultimately, Diana must reveal herself and take on Maxwell Lord and the Cheetah, a villainess with superhuman strength and agility.

Rotten Tomatoes has a 59% approval, with an Audience score of 74% for this film. Some reviewers thought this was an overly long sequel to previous Wonder Woman films. Rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence). Runtime is two and a half hours.

In late March, we plan to show Nomadland, rated R, about a woman who becomes a modern-day nomad, as she sets off on the road to explore life outside conventional society.

We very much appreciate your helping us stay open by wearing a mask and that covers your nose and mouth at the theater, and maintaining social distancing. We hope to see you at the theater.
