DAYTON-National FFA week is an annual event, which many FFA chapters all over the U.S. take part in. The spirit week took place beginning Monday, February 22. The week is a way for FFA members to celebrate and share the achievements of their chapter, and share the importance, and meaning of FFA with all. "It's a time to share what FFA is and the impact it has on members every day as a nation," said FFA/Agriculture teacher Jennifer Crane.

Much like the spirit weeks that are thrown for Homecoming, Prom, Winter Break, and etc,, each day of National FFA Week for Dayton High School (DHS) was given a designated activity, theme, and dress-up genre.

The week started off with Farmer/Western Day, where students dressed in their favorite western fashion, or any sort of farm attire. The activity of the day was to write thank you letters for all of the support that the community provides to FFA.

Tuesday brought to us Throwback FFA/Alumni Day, and flannels were the dress-up theme of the day. Wednesday honored the teachers of DHS, as Advisor/Teacher Appreciation Day, while the FFA students dressed as their favorite teacher.

The next day, Thursday, was Drive Your Tractor to School Day, while not many students were able to participate in this activity, they contributed with the dress-up theme of Farm Animal Day. However, FFA student Dan (Junior) Magill-Katsel was happy to participate, and succeeded in driving his tractor to school in a blanket of snow, and complete with Blue and Gold balloons attached.

Finally, for Friday, the club members donned their FFA colors of blue and gold, and after school were treated to a club barbeque in the ag shop, courtesy of FFA leader Ms. Crane.

During this week, students in Ms. Cranes Ag class were also able to take part in their choice of twenty Career Development Events with other students nationwide, through virtual means. The students are currently waiting on the results of their competitions. To top-off the fun filled spirit week, the state FFA officers paid a visit to DHS, and even gave presentations to both Agriculture classes.

This was a special and inspiring occasion for the future and current members of the FFA.
