Library awarded ARPA grant

By Todd Vandenbark, MLS

The Washington State Library invited CCRLD and other libraries across the state to apply for grant funds from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). I applied in hopes of obtaining funding to continue offering hotspots for checkout. I learned last week that we have been awarded $7,008 to continue supporting this service! These funds will allow us to purchase two additional hotspots and pay the monthly connection fee for all units.

Enjoy Washington State Parks on Us!

The library has two Discover Passes to the Washington State Parks system available for checkout. The Discover Pass offers you access to millions of acres of state recreation lands in Washington, including:

• More than 100 developed state parks

• More than 350 primitive recreation sites, including campgrounds and picnic areas

• Nearly 700 water-access points

• Nearly 2,000 miles of designated water and land recreation trails

• More than 80 natural areas

• More than 30 wildlife areas

The loan period for these passes is three (3) weeks.

Mask Up, Keep COVID Down!

In response to recent CDC recommendations, beginning Monday, August 2, 2021, CCRLD will be requiring all staff, patrons, vendors, and visitors to wear a mask in the library. We will also resume offering curbside service for those patrons unwilling or unable to wear a mask. Masks are also required for all events in the Delany building. The Delany kitchen is closed and no food is permitted, though bottled water and similar containers are allowed.
